Worship

Festive Procession At Zion Lutheran Church, there are three different worship experiences from which to choose. Holy Communion is celebrated at all three services.

Saturday, 6pm: The Saturday night worship service is held in the Chapel at 6pm. Communion is by intinction.

Sunday, 9am: The Contemporary worship service is held in the sanctuary on Sundays at 9am. The music is led by the worship team which features guitars, keyboard, bass, drums, and vocalists. Communion is by intinction.

Sunday, 11am: The Traditional worship service is held in the sanctuary on Sundays at 11am. The music is primarily traditional hymns. Communion is by intinction with the exception of the first Sunday of the month, which is table communion.

A hearing assistance system is available during worship. Please see an usher for assistance.

Communion Practices

Communion Intinction is the communion practice for Saturday worship, 9am contemporary worship, and 11am traditional worship (except for the first Sunday of the month when it is table communion). You will receive the wafer and dip it into the chalice. As you receive the wafer the pastor will say, "The body of Christ, given for you," and "The blood of Christ, shed for you." Your response to each is "Amen". Children who have not communed before should keep their hands folded so the pastor may give them a special blessing. If you are unable to come forward, but wish to receive the Body and Blood, the pastor will come to you.

Table Communion is the communion practice for the 11am traditional service only on the first Sunday of the month. The ushers will direct you to come forward to the communion rail where you may kneel or stand to receive the bread and wine. If you or your child would like to receive grape juice, please indicate by pointing to the center of the tray where grape juice is available. You may return to your pew after you have communed and had time to pray. Children who have not communed before should keep their hands folded and the pastor will give them a special blessing. If you are unable to come forward, but wish to receive the Body and Blood, the pastor will come to you.

Childcare

Nursery Childcare is provided at the Sunday 9am contemporary worship service and the 11am traditional worship service from September through June. The Nursery is on the first floor, below the sanctuary. Exit the Sanctuary through the "Narthex". Go down the stairs and through the double doors into the Sunday School hallway. The nursery is the first door on the right.
