Ecumenical Thanksgiving Worship Service
Sunday, November 23rd at 7:00pm
An Ecumenical Thanksgiving Worship Service for the Middletown Community will be held on Sunday, November 23rd at 7:00pm. This year the service is being hosted by Christ Reformed Church. Our own Pastor Kathy will be giving the sermon on John 6:25-35, entitled “Bread for the World. Offerings will go to the Habitat for Humanity Middletown project. The Middletown project includes Zion and five other area churches who have teamed to renovate one unit and build a second new one on South Jefferson Street.
All are invited! Please plan to join in worship and thanksgiving with your family, friends, neighbors and other Zion members at this annual event.
Organ Fund
When the organ tuners service our organ, which is 3-4 times a year, they
always do an evaluation in September to let us know if there are any pending
needs that we need to know about. The evaluation done this past September
indicated that there are no major repairs anticipated. My guess is that we
should be in good shape for the next 5-7 years. That does not mean,
however, that something couldn't go wrong!
The Organ Fund established
several years ago can always use funds to take care of any emergencies that
may come along. Your donations to this Fund are always appreciated. Our
Director of Music Ministry, John Seachrist, writes:
"When I was in Europe
this past summer I was surprised how many pipe organs were no longer in use due to most of the churches being unable to afford the cost of maintaining
the instrument. Let's not let that happen at Zion!"
