Zion's Inclement Weather Policy
Occasionally inclement weather conditions require Zion to cancel or delay the opening of our offices or our worship services. We consider the safety of our congregational members and staff of the utmost importance. Personal discretion of the road conditions in your area is always the best guide. As worship service decisions are made they will be communicated as early as possible through our prerecorded phone system at 301-371-6500, our website at www.zionmiddletown.org or by listening to announcements on several of the local radio stations (WFMD, WFRE, WTRI).

Zion’s Community Cross
During the last week of March, you will notice a cross erected out by our church sign. This is our "Community Cross."It will stand through the end of Easter week. The cross will be erected for anyone - including the entire community - who has prayers, burdens or anything that they would like to "nail to the Cross of Christ."
He has said, "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."
- Matthew 11:28
During Holy Week (March 29 - April 2) take the opportunity to come, write your prayers, concerns or any burden that you are carrying and leave it at the Cross. Nails and paper will be available by the cross for you to use.
Then watch and see the transformation of the cross on Easter Sunday; see how Christ takes your burdens and turns them into something beautiful. For more information, please contact Ginger Trautman.
Good Friday Prayer Services
Good Friday is a solemn day in the life of the church. We gather to experience the power of the cross in our lives as we worship our crucified Lord. On this day we will contemplate the events of the crucifixion during three brief prayer services. These services will follow the form of the Daily Office (a monastic prayer discipline) and the Stations of the Cross.
9:00 am - Morning Prayer in Zion’s Chapel
12 noon - Noon Prayer moving from the Chapel to the Community Cross, including the opportunity to add your prayers or burdens to the cross.
5:30 pm - Evening Prayer a service of song and prayer at the Cross, including the opportunity to add your prayers or burdens to the cross.
6:00 pm - Light Dinner following the Evening Prayer Service, we will gather in the Social Room for a light meal as we await the coming Tenebrae service.
7:00 pm - Tenebrae Worship Service
